At the Calgary MFRC, we support the families of military members, in as many ways as possible. The challenges of military life are unique but the MFRC “gets” it. We’re here for you. While we may not have all the answers, we try our best to find or create a solution and be there for you whenever you may need us.
Below are some of our family members who we’ve had the pleasure of getting to know over the years.
"My family and I personally access the services of the MFRC and I have to tell you that the services provided make a significant difference. During my first miltary tour this organization did not exist and the family support was not there for Reservists. Now I wonder how we ever got along without their support. The additional opportunities the organization can now pursue in support of the military and family members will continue to make further and significant differences for those in uniform."

“Having grown up as a military child, the MFRC has been very significant in my life, as it has provided me with great memories and valuable experiences. I have been given opportunities to travel, from Edmonton to Paris, the opportunity to go to cool events like Cirque du Soleil and the Lacombe Corn Maze, and the opportunity to meet other people and develop strong friendships.”

“Just like to start by saying thank you to all staff members and volunteers. Without people in key positions that care we would not have one of the best MFRCs. My welcome to Calgary was a pleasant transition, all info received was very help for a person that came on IR from Kingston, Ontario. This is the first posting I have been to that welcomes people in a fabulousway. During my short stay, I have had the opportunity to help with the kids Christmas party. There have been lots of other events, draws and gifts given to members and their families. Thank you for a great job”

"During my son's deployment I went to the MFRC every week to drop off a care package to be sent to my son. It was comforting to enter a place where there were warm smiles, where people understood what I was going through and that I was not the only one in my situation. The very act of listening made a huge difference ... Your support for over nine months of my son's deployment is truly appreciated and will not be forgotten. It is a pleasure to see that this organization has respect, passion, compassion and understanding. Without the Centre, I am not sure how I would have survived those months."

"I just wanted to say, once again, how thankful we are to have attended the (Moving Forward) retreat this weekend. I don't have it all figured out, but I feel like I am not alone, and we learned a lot as we begin this journey. I already look forward to the next one; you guys, and everyone else who helped make this a reality should be very proud of what was accomplished. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you."
