Hearts of Courage

Register here! Calgary's annual "Stampede Party With A Purpose" is back! And it's going to be bigger and better than ever this year, with a great live entertainment and some amazing silent auction items.

Hearts of Courage was started 11 years ago in an effort to raise funds for Greene and his family, and since then has continued to donate proceeds to the Calgary MFRC and its military families.

Breakfast on the Bridge 2017

Join us for a Breakfast to Remember! The third annual Breakfast on the Bridge will be held on June 17, 2017.

Starting at 5:00 am on Calgary's Peace Bridge, this event will honour 150 years of service and include a keynote speech from the Hon. Harjit Singh Sajjan, Minister of National Defence.

We need 35 volunteers to help with our AGLC Casino fundraiser on May 13-14!

Never volunteered for a Casino before? Not sure what to expect? No worries: you will receive a job description and’s super easy, fun and a delicious dinner is included!

Qigong Beginner Classes

We are now offering a introductory class for Qigong, which an ancient Chinese exercise that integrates physical postures, breathing techniques and focused intention.

All sessions run from 8 am to 9 am in the 41 CBG Conference Room in Calgary, AB.

Monday, March 6: Technique and Theory
Wednesday, March 8: Focus and Stability
Thursday, March 9: Strength and Stamina

Cost is $5 per person for all three classes.

Register for Spring Break Camp

The registration for the Calgary MFRC Spring Break Camp is now opened! The day camps is for ages 6-11 (no exceptions).  Register today by clicking this link.

The day camp will run from 9 am to 4 pm on March 27 to March 31. You can register for as many or as few days as you would like. Prices are $25 per day for military children and $40 per day for civilian children. Military children will be given priority and if space permits, civilian friends will registered. 

Top Fuel for Top Performance

The Calgary MFRC is happy to bring the Top Fuel for Top Performance workshop to our Calgary and Lethbridge Offices. If you are looking for ways to improve the health and wellness of our whole family, this is the presentation for you. 

The Top Fuel for Top Performance workshop is presented by PSP Edmonton. It will cover:

New MFRC Executive Director

Farewell to Karen Bruce who has graciously taken time from her consulting firm to assume the duties as our Executive Director on two occasions; from December 2011 to July 2012, and December 2014 to October 2016. She has demonstrated exceptional leadership skills and her management expertise have transformed our MFRC to be one of the best in Canada. On behalf of the Board, the staff and the military families, I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you for your distinguished service and wish you and John the very best in your quest to achieve all the remaining items on your ‘bucket list’.

Michael Hornburg Emergency Funding

The Hornburg family and Kings Own Calgary Regiment (KOCR) has requested the Calgary Military Family Resource Centre’s assistance with emergency funding. We are hoping to raise $40,000 for Michael Hornburg and the family.The Calgary MFRC will accept contributions to help the Hornburg family, and any excess will be used to replenish our Benevolent Fund which is designed to help with military family’s urgent needs.

SISIP Free Financial Workshops

SISIP Financial will be hosting two free information sessions in Calgary on Wednesday, Sept. 21 as part of their National Financial Education Tour.

These free sessions will feature Pierre Goulet sharing his philosophy on “Simple Savings Solutions.” Goulet is a certified financial planner with SISIP and benefits and pensions specialist for the CAF community, among other designations.

Satellite Office Hours Resume in Red Deer and Lethbridge

The Calgary MFRC's satellite hours in both Red Deer and Lethbridge are back in session to better respond to the needs of our CAF community members outside of Calgary. 

Members and their families are welcome to drop in at the Cormack and Vimy Ridge Armories during our Outreach Coordinator, Claire Bertran, satellite hours.
