Gord Young

Executive Director

E: gordon.young@calgarymfrc.ca

Gord brings over thirty years of experience in the non-profit world to the Calgary MFRC. He is uniquely trained in running a centre such as this with a long background with organizations. He has worked with various populations including children and adults with multiple disabilities (physical and mental), First Nations, and people suffering with addiction and mental health problems. He supports all areas of the Calgary MFRC and works closely with our Board of Directors to make decisions that affect our military families.

Audra de Molitor

Program Manager

E: audra.demolitor@calgarymfrc.ca

The military must be in Audra’s blood – after growing up as a military “brat,” she married a military man and began volunteering with personal support programs and MFRC programs, which turned from a passion into a career. For the last 14 years she’s supported the Calgary MFRC’s military families by organizing child and youth camps, volunteer opportunities and providing guidance to new employees and families alike.

E: info@calgarymfrc.ca

Lori is your first source for information and referral services at the MFRC office. She started out as a volunteer in 2014 and became part of the staff in late 2015, working part-time at the front desk. Her daughter is busy traveling the world but her son is a reservist with the 41 Signals Regiment in Calgary. In her spare time, Lori enjoys spending time outdoors and helping her husband in his workshop.

James Knox

E: james.knox3@forces.gc.ca

James’ primary role and responsibility is to ensure the families of ill, injured and fallen service personnel in southern Alberta are effectively supported and receiving Calgary MFRC programs and services as required. He provides individual and family counselling, as well as specialist referrals in a variety of counselling areas. James is also an Army Reserve officer with 14 years of service, which lends itself well to his duties as the FLO and ability to relate to clients.

Heather Hankins-Bruce

Heather Hankins-Bruce

Development Coordinator

E: heather.hbruce@calgarymfrc.ca

For Heather, helping donors discover the community programs that resonate for them is important. Her ability to create meaning from bytes of information, provide clear record keeping and stewardship to ensure ongoing funding provides a start for sustainable fundraising. These are key components to making sure that our military families can depend on the Calgary MFRC for many kinds of support. Whether it’s the ‘big picture’ or a random piece of data, Heather can find a way to use it.

Flor Artiga

Flor Artiga

Program Coordinator

E: flor.artiga@calgarymfrc.ca

As an army wife, Flor understands how the military lifestyle can affect the family. It’s because of that personal link that she first became interested and got involved with the Military Community. Flor initially began volunteering with the MFRC and is now a full-time staff member as Program Coordinator. Her enthusiasm for social activities makes her the perfect person to organize all the family events and activities for children at the MFRC.

Claire Bertran

Program Coordinator

E: claire.bertran@calgarymfrc.ca

Claire is originally from France and has made Calgary her home for the past 10 years. Her work is focused on empowering individuals and families to build supportive and resilient communities and to that end, believes that building bridges to access relevant services is key to supporting isolated communities both in local and outreach areas. In her role as outreach program coordinator, she values community feedback to improve and create programs that speak directly to the needs of community members. Her role includes coordinating PSI and FSR services, outreach programs and developing new programs to better support the veterans community.
