Tuesday, July 3rd
Arrive ready to get in touch with your inner engineer! We are starting the day off with an exciting program from BRICKS 4 KIDS, featuring both traditional and robotic LEGO builds. We’ll start the week off with a healthy lunch from the PITA PIT, then we’re heading over to the MILITARY MUSEUMS. The afternoon will be spent learning what it took to be a soldier during WWII. Get ready to put on a uniform and start training! We’ll be outside for part of the day, so be sure to dress for the weather and bring your sunscreen.
Wednesday, July 4th
Today is going to be absolute PANDA-monium, because we’re going to spend the whole day at the CALGARY ZOO. Alpaca your lunch, favourite hat, sunscreen and a water bottle, and wear comfortable shoes, because we’ll be out and about all day.
Thursday, July 5th
Who do dinosaurs call when they’re in trouble? The Tricea-cops! Hopefully, we stay out of trouble and have an absolutely DINO-mite day at the ROYAL TYRRELL MUSEUM! Make sure you get a good night’s sleep because the bus leaves the Calgary MFRC at 8:00 a.m. today. We’ll have lots of time to explore the museum and do some cool activities with the museum staff. Lunch will be at the museum cafeteria. Make sure you wear your walking shoes and pack a hat, sunscreen, water bottle, and snacks. We’ll be back at the Calgary MFRC at 5:00 p.m.
Friday, July 6th
Today is all about play! In the morning we’re heading to MONSTER MINI-GOLF for some spooky, glow-in-the-dark fun. After a pizza lunch, we’re off to INJANATION to connect with our inner Ninja Warriors all afternoon. We’ll be inside all day, so be sure to pack a water bottle.
Week Two, July 16-20, 2018 (Activities below)
*Registration Deadline: July 5th, 2018*
Monday, July 16th
Pack your rubber boots and bathing suits because today is going to be wild! We’ll start the day off with a trip to the WEASELHEAD where their education team will help us get up close and personal with the creepy, crawly creatures living in one of Calgary’s most diverse wetlands. Pack a lunch today, as we are having a picnic in North Glenmore Park before we jump on the bus and head to the WESTSIDE REC CENTRE for an afternoon at the wave pool. Before we head back to the Calgary MFRC we’ll stop at the on-site café for some fruity frozen yogurt.
Tuesday, July 17th
This morning we’re going on a treasure hunt at the NATIONAL MUSIC CENTRE. Armed with our trusty interactive maps, we’ll solve riddles, learn new skills, observe musical demonstrations and test our abilities as we collect customized cards from all over the centre. For lunch we’re heading to the Asian Buffet, so make sure you bring a healthy appetite today. In the afternoon we’re off to LASERQUEST for a couple of high paced games of laser tag to end the day.
Wednesday, July 18th
Today we’ll spend the morning learning about pets and what they can teach us about being kinder to one another from an educator at the CALGARY HUMANE SOCIETY. Once this classroom session at the Calgary MFRC is over, we’ll head to the Humane Society for a tour. We are having lunch and spending the afternoon at the SASKATOON FARM. No need to pack an afternoon snack, hopefully, we’ll pick enough berries that we bring some home to share. Make sure to wear sturdy shoes and bring your hat, sunscreen and water bottle today.
Thursday, July 19th
We’re going back in time to learn ‘How the West Was Once’ at HERITAGE PARK. You’ll be amazed how time flies when we’re having a good, old-fashioned fun. Pack your sunscreen and water bottle and wear comfy shoes today – no sandals please, they’re no fun on dirt roads. Also, make sure to bring your hat. No respectable lady or gentleman of the past would be caught without one. Make sure you pack a lunch today but save some room as we’ll all get Tasty Treat Coupons good for one of the following: an ice cream, cotton candy, popcorn, or cookies fresh from the bakery.
Friday, July 20th
Friday is full of adventure as we head off for a day at CANADA OLYMPIC PARK. In the morning we’re reaching new heights at the CALGARY CLIMBING CENTRE’s brand new Rocky Mountain facility. After lunch at the WinSport cafeteria, we’re spending all afternoon speeding down the Skyline Luge track. Hats, sunscreen, and a water bottle are a must today.

Like true cowgirls and cowboys we’re up with the sun today! The bus leaves the Calgary MFRC at 8:00 a.m. to take us to the mountains for a day of Horseback Riding at BOUNDARY RANCH. We’ll be splitting the group in two, so as not to tire the horses out too badly. While one group rides, the other will spend the morning swimming at the STONEY NAKODA HOTEL. After lunch at the resort, the groups will switch. Make sure to wear long pants and a hat today, and pack your bathing suit, towel, water bottle, and sunscreen. We’ll be back at the Calgary MFRC at 5:00 p.m..
Wednesday, August 15th
This morning we’re going to one of Calgary’s oldest parks. BOWNESS PARK has been a summer destination for canoers and boaters for 107 years, and we’re following their lead and renting canoes and paddleboats on the lagoon. Pack your swimsuit; if it’s nice we might just stop for some fun at the new wading pool. Bring your lunch today for a picnic in the park, and as always, bring your sunscreen, hat and water bottle. After lunch we’re off to the MOVIES to take in one of summer’s many blockbusters.
Thursday, August 16th
Better be on your toes this morning! We’re starting the day off with a session at BREATH PARKOUR. You’ll definitely work up an appetite with all that jumping around, so we’re stopping at Coco Brooks for a pizza lunch. Then break out your snazziest 1950s fashions, because we’re going BOWLING this afternoon. If you can’t find anything in your closet, don’t worry. The rented shoes are retro enough! We won’t be outside much today, but make sure you bring a water bottle.
Friday, August 17th
What better way to celebrate the end of the Calgary MFRC summer camps than with a trip to CALAWAY PARK? We’ll spend all day riding rides and having so much fun! Lunch will be provided. It’s always a little hotter at Calaway Park than in the rest of the city, so sunscreen, a hat and a water bottle are all a must.
