The Calgary MFRC believes in the power of spirituality, self-reflection, and self-care. With this in mind, we are now offering a monthly Self Care Group to our entire military family community.
Each month the Self-Care Group will allow you to enjoy a different workshop or activity that looks at self-care. Some topics include mindfulness, meditation, paint nights, and qi gong. The evening group will then meet after the activity for an opportunity
to chat and enjoy some refreshments.
In June, we went through Emotional Freedom Technique or tapping. The attendees got a chance to learn how to release stress and cope with difficult emotions using pressure points on their body. People also got a chance to discuss the session and visit with each other afterward
It is our hope that these groups will promote self-care practices among community members, foster resilience in the community in preparation
for possible hardships and current common stressors, and to promote connection among members.
